HAGATNA (AP) — A Guam police officer is facing a murder charge in the shooting death of a 15-year veteran of the force.

The Pacific Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1UX0xzj) Guam Police Department Officer Elbert Piolo called police himself as he bled out from a gunshot wound Monday morning. He was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

The shooting occurred at the residence of Officer Mark Torre Jr., who was formally charged with the crime Tuesday. His bond was set at $500,000.

Torre is represented by defense attorney Jay Arriola.
